A. plot - is a conflict between Macbeth and Macduff and a power struggle between them.
 
B. setting - Time and place story took place.  10th-11th century mainly in Scotland but briefly in England.  Medevil era of (palace) knights and a belief in honor and loyalty.
 
C.  atmosphere - Dark Castles with mostly thick dark nights.  Good heartedness isn't common in the play.
 
D. imagery - keeps the mind moving by using sense of smell and the other senses.
